2018 Blue Mountain Livestock Judging Clinic
Who: 3rd grade through 12th grade livestock showmen
NOTE: Spots are limited-We will take only 50 students for this clinic (1st 50 registrations received with payment) to ensure that each student has an opportunity to work with the instructors.
Date: April 14, 2018 (Saturday)
Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Place: BMCC F.A.R.M. Building, Pendleton, Oregon
Cost: $20/person with pre-registration received by 4/9/18. $30 at the door
Instruction provided by: BMCC Livestock Instructor, Nick Nelson and the BMCC Livestock Judging Team Members (present and past)
Description: Join us for a day of livestock judging!
This is what the day will look like:
9:00 -10:00 Project Animal Selection: Learn about the 6 traits and learn how to quickly recognize them
10:00 - 11:00 Taking Notes and Formatting Oral Reasons
11:00 - 12:00 Mock Judging: Try out your newly attained knowledge with some sample classes compiled from photos and videos
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch Break
1:00 - 3:00 It's Time to Judge Some Animals!: Separate into small groups to judge live animals at the F.A.R.M. With group leaders students will circulate through the livestock classes compiling notes and placing the animals. Students will present oral reasons to their group leader.

Do we have to pre-register? Pre-registration is not mandatory but it's cheaper! Send your registration form to us before April 9th and the registration fee is $20 per student. If you wait until you get here for the event, the cost per student is $30.
Is this event limited to 4-H and FFA members only? No! If you are not a member of 4-H or FFA, you can still come.
Does each participant need to bring anything? No. Notebooks and worksheets will be provided.
Is lunch included in the registration fee? No. But one of our local 4-H groups will be selling hot dog and hamburger lunches for $5. If you have special dietary requirements you should plan to make arrangements for your lunch yourself.
