October @ the Library

October is National Information Literacy Awareness Month

Information Literacy is defined as the ability to know when there is a need for information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate, and effectively use that information to resolve the issue or problem at hand.

In honor of BMCC's 50th Anniversary, come see "the way we were."  The Library has a display of popular culture items--magazines, toys, books, etc.--from 1962.
On a two-year loan to the Library is a metal sculpture by former BMCC Art instructor, Bruce Guiwits (1939-2009).  The sculpture is called Black Tie and is installed in the seating area in the back of the library, nicely situated in front of floor-to-ceiling windows where it can be seen from outside the Library, too.
