From Pendleton, Oregon
Take I-84 West to Exit 188 for US-395 N toward Stanfield. Merge onto OR-32/US-395 and continue to follow US-395. Turn right at Port Drive and turn left at SE Columbia Drive.

From Portland, Oregon
Take 1-84 East to Exit 182 for OR-207 toward Lexington/Hermiston. Turn left at Hermiston Hwy/OR-207. Turn right at CR-1200/W Highland Avenue. Turn right at S 1st Street/US-395. Turn left at Port Drive. Turn Left at SE Columbia Drive.

From Pasco, Washington
Take Highway 395 South to I-82 toward Pendlton/Umatilla. Take exit 1 for US-730/US-395 toward Hermiston/Umatilla. Turn left at 6th St/Columbia River Hwy/US-395/US-730. Slight right at Lind Road. Slight right at OR-32/US-395. Turn left at Port Drive. Turn left at SE Columbia Drive.

From Boise, Idaho

What is Going On?

Located 30 miles west of the Pendleton campus, Blue Mountain Community College Hermiston serves the Western region of the college district. A full range of college services is available including a comprehensive basic skills and extended learning program. Annually, the Hermiston campus has over 5000 individual registrations for classes and generates almost 20% of the college FTE's. Associate Arts Oregon Transfer degrees are offered with a combination of day and evening classes as well as a comprehensive business lab, which meets both day and evening hours.

Courses are offered in GED preparation, English as a Second Language, college preparatory, life skills, adult literacy, employment skills, citizenship, lower division collegiate, professional development, technical training topics, personal development and enrichment, emergency medical training, first aid, occupational certification, and customized training for business and industry.

In addition, the BMCC Hermiston offers GED testing, placement testing, academic and career counseling, learning disabilities assistance, skill center services, and small business counseling.

Staff at the Hermiston Campus works with business and industry providing customized training for Union Pacific Railroad, WalMart Distribution Center, US Bank, Good Shepherd Community Hospital, Two Rivers Correctional Institution, Raytheon, Simplot, and a variety of other area employers. Emergency Medical training is based in Hermiston serving Umatilla, Morrow, and Baker County's emergency personnel and offering custom First Aid and CPR training at employer's sites throughout Eastern Oregon.

An Industrial Maintenance Technology Program was developed at the Hermiston campus as a response from industry to provide training for the food processors in the area, combining hands-on experience with technical training. A regional advisory committee of college and industry representatives developed the curriculum to meet specific employers' needs. Long-time training partnerships are in place with Simplot, Lamb-Weston, Hermiston Foods, Smith Frozen Foods, Continental Mills, Pendleton Flour Mills, Key Technology, and Boardman Foods.

Additionally, to assist with training needs, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) office in Hermiston provides training. Supporting services at all the regional facilities including Hermiston and Morrow County Center in Boardman, the B & I Services director is available to meet with interested business and industry to develop training programs. Training programs can be housed at job sites from a variety of topics or may utilize several methods of delivery including on-line, interactive TV and self-study.
