BMCC Library, Pendleton

Celebrating National Gaming Day @ Your Library with our very first tournament! There'll be tons of stuff to do:

  •  Open play consoles: PS2, XBox, and even old-school N64 and Atari 2600! Bring your games, consoles, and controllers from home to use and share with other players! Be ready to sign a quick release form before we plug your stuff in.
  • Guitar Hero 5 Tournament: A 4-round guitar tournament to determine the baddest axe-master at BMCC! Registration is limited to the first 24 players to sign up, so be sure to REGISTER! The winner's prize will be provided by local merchants.
  • Mario Kart Wii Tournament: 4 rounds of Mario mayhem! Grab the wheel, pick up some items, and dash for the finish line. Registration is limited to the first 24 players to sign up, so be sure to REGISTER! The winner's prize will be provided by local merchants.
  • Handhelds Lounge: Got DS? Got PSP? Bring 'em and your favorite titles along! We'll have a comfy nook set up for interested players to link up and play.
  • Free pizza lunch: Hit the Pioneer Hall vending machines for snacks and drinks, then enjoy the free pizza around lunchtime!

All that, plus just plain hang-out time with other BMCC gamers. Get your BMCC Student Library Card (it's your ticket) to join us on the 14th as Teh 4wesomesauce pours and M4dskillz explode!

would you accept walk ins?? bmmc students that dont register for tourny?
i dont know if i will be able to go...yet

ejensen:

Absolutely YES! We're guessing a lot of other students are in the same boat, so we'll be accepting walk-in registrations on the morning of the tournament, November 14. Be sure you've got your BMCC Student library card with you. Don't wait too long, though -- each tournament is limited to the first 24 players to sign up!

You can also just come to watch the tournament and enjoy the open play consoles -- tournament play is not required!

I'm a BMCC student, but don't really play video games. Would i be able to let my son play? he's really good at Guitar hero and plenty of N64 games, please reply back

ejensen:

Good question! For this first tournament, we're limiting attendance to card-carrying BMCC students, faculty, and staff. Unfortunately, this means non-students won't be able to attend on the 14th.

If we get enough interest from students, the plan is to open our next video game events to friends and family of students. You might want to swing by on the 14th if you have a chance, just to see how this thing goes down! (Not to mention try out a few games yourself -- you might like them more than you thought!) Encourage your friends and classmates who do play to attend, too!
