Information for Veterans and Veterans' Family Members receiving VA Education Benefits

Important information about applying:

In order to receive VA education benefits, students must:

  • Be an admitted BMCC student and be pursuing a BMCC degree or certificate;
  • Take placement tests to determine proper course placement before enrollment, or have previous transcripts evaluated;
  • Meet with a Student Success Coach and be assigned an Academic Advisor;
  • Determine which VA Chapter best suits your needs (compare options onlineand
    • if haven't already, apply for VA Education Benefits online, or call 1-888-442-4551 and ask that an application be mailed to them; 
  • Complete, sign, and return the BMCC Veterans' Education Benefits Request packet, along with the appropriate documentation shown in the table below.
