SCHOLARSHIPS - Local and National

The BMCC Foundation and Financial Aid office attempt to post all local and national scholarship opportunities. Every effort is made to keep this list up to date. However, specific details and deadlines should be verified when filling out an application.

Most scholarship applications are due November through May for funding fall term. Mid-year scholarships are sometimes made available. Please check back often for updated information. Most scholarships require you to submit an essay. Click here for Essay Help.

Amazon Web Services Scholarship - for Data Center Technician students - $$ award amount varies - 09/19/2019

Precision Irrigated Agriculture Scholarship in memory of Betty Klepper - must be enrolled in the Precision Irrigated Ag program - $$ award amount varies - 10/01/2019 (for the 2019-2020 year!)

Altrusa International Foundation of Hermiston - Linda Gilleese Memorial Scholarship - residents of western Umatilla County or north Morrow County - up to $3,500 - 10/01/2019 (for the 2019-2020 winter/spring terms!)

William and Helen Deeks Nursing Scholarship - first & second year Nursing students - $2,500 - 11/04/2019

BMCC Foundation Scholarship Application - The Foundation offers both need-based and academic scholarships. These scholarships are funded from community contributions and endowment earnings. The application will be available early winter term; please check back then.

Altrusa International Foundation of Hermiston - Dorothy Juve Memorial Scholarship - residents of western Umatilla County or north Morrow County - up to $3,500 - 03/11/2020 (to be awarded for summer/fall 2020)

The Lightfoot Foundation Scholarships - for students from the Treasure Valley area (58 approved cities and towns) - 04/15 for following year

Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship - please read the attached PDF and contact the Financial Aid office at to apply

Financial Emergency Scholarship - These funds are intended to assist students in emergency situations.  If you are experiencing unforeseen adverse financial circumstances beyond your control, please complete the Financial Emergency Scholarship form by following the link.

George Sink Injury Lawyers Veterans & Military Family Scholarship - veteran, active duty/retired service member, or spouse/child of active duty/retired service  member - $1,000 - 06/15 

The Summit Shah MD Scholarship - $1,000 - 07/01/20

Horatio Alger State Scholarship - high school seniors - $10,000 - open annually from 08/01 to 10/25

Horatio Alger Career & Technical Scholarship Program - up to $2,500 - open until all scholarships are awarded

AmericanMuscle Automotive Scholarship - automotive - $2,000 - 06/15 for Fall and 10/15 for Spring

D. Miller & Associates Community Superhero Scholarship - $1,500 - 06/15 Scholarship - for aspiring educators/teachers - high school seniors - $5,000 - 06/30 Scholarship - for aspiring educators/teachers - undergraduates - $5,000 & $10,000 - 01/01 

Julie Queler Scholarship - $1,000 - 08/01/19

Achieve TMS Annual Mental Health Scholarship - mental health field - $1,000 - 08/01/19

Surety Bond Authority Scholarship Program - Accounting, Banking, and other finance-related fields - $1,500 - 09/01/19

The HOTH SEO Scholarship Program - $1,000 - 12/31

Extreme Terrain Student Scholarship - Biology or related degree in Environmental Studies - $3,000 - 06/15 for Fall and 10/15 for Spring

Varsity Tutors Scholarship - $1,000 - new scholarship each month

University Tutor Scholarship - $1,000 - new scholarship each month
