Demand for well-trained office workers continues to be high. To provide qualified employees to meet the demand, the Business Technologies Department at Blue Mountain Community College offers basic and advanced courses as well as training in specialty areas such as legal and medical.
Advisory committees of professionals employed in the various office areas keep our program requirements in line with current job requirements. Existing curriculum is revised, new courses developed, and up-to-date equipment acquired to meet the changing needs of employers. All programs include hands-on computer work.
Employers are looking for employees who have a variety of skills. These include keyboarding/typing; communication; computation; computer literacy (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database applications, desktop publishing); human relations; problem solving; and organization/management.

The certificate and degree programs listed have been designed to fit a variety of needs. You may also enroll in classes without working toward a certificate or degree.
