The following students are required to take the COMPASS placement test:

Students who are degree-seeking, either full-time or part-time, non-degree seeking students taking Math and/or English, and transfer students that have not successfully completed a math and writing course at a prior college or university.

The placement test is a self-paced, computerized test designed to determine the student’s level of ability and is used to assist in course placement. It is not a pass/fail exam. There is a $10 fee for the placement test.
