All About the Arts

We're two days in and going strong with True West, New West, the 2010 BMCC Arts & Culture Festival. There are presentations, speakers, events, and tons of just plain fun stuff to enjoy.

We've got plenty of info to get you ready for the festival or satisfy that thirst for more knowledge it will cause . . .

Swing into the library to see our display for the festival, then check out the events schedule for the next awesome thing.

April is all about the arts! Not only are we sharing in the goodness of the BMCC's Arts & Culture Festival, the library is also celebrating:

  • America's music! Enjoy some cool sounds in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month
  • Words loudly drawing attention to themselves! See our great National Poetry Month displays.
  • The splendor of nature! See the grandeur of and learn some of the history around our national parks during National Park Week.
  • The poet in our midst! Check out a selection of poetry by our award-winning local wordsmith, Shaindel Beers. (And get ready for her special poetry reading in the library next week.)
  • Being green! Check out a sample of our materials on environmentally friendly living as we remember Earth Day, April 22.

All this, plus our usual services for students, staff, faculty, and guests. Come on in and see what's happening -- we're waiting for you!
