Pendleton Foundation Trust awards tool scholarships to diesel students
Four Blue Mountain Community College diesel technology students have each been awarded $3,000 scholarships from the Pendleton Foundation Trust to purchase tools for the trade.
The Pendleton Foundation Trust provided $12,000 to fund the 2019 Dudek Diesel Tech Tool Scholarship, which honors Lee and Luella Dudek, who owned and operated Lee’s Refrigeration Company for more than 50 years. The Dudek’s wanted to give back to career-technical education opportunities in the region through the family’s estate.
The scholarships will allow each of the four first-year diesel students to purchase the tools necessary to be successful in the diesel technology program and in their careers. Upon completion of the diesel technology program at BMCC, the students will be allowed to keep the tools for their future employment.
The four students selected for the scholarship include Nestor Guzman, Anthony Rodelo, Tanner Sater and Hannah Wolfe.
