The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Boy Scout Troop 700, and Blue Mountain Community College pulled out the stops to welcome the families of deployed soldiers to the Oregon National Guard Yellow Ribbon Events held on the Pendleton campus on Saturday, October 16.

Boy Scouts Zach Szumski, Jake Szumski, Johnny Stuvland, Ryan Lacey, Trevor Kunz, and Noah Szumski placed 100 flags up the BMCC entry to welcome participants to the event and yellow ribbons were tied on the Pioneer Hall balcony to show solidarity with the military families in attendance.

This is one of six Yellow Ribbon events planned by the National Guard that the Scouts will participate in, along with the VFW, to honor National Guard soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
