Diesel Technology Application Process

To apply please complete the following steps:

  1. Complete a BMCC Request for Information an application packet will be mailed to you.
  2. Complete and return the application packet as soon as possible. Priority placement will be based on Veteran's status and the date of receipt of completed applications. Deadline to apply for entrance to the 2008-09 program was April 11, 2008, however, we will continue to accept applications until our program is full.
  3. Take a current placement examination (within the last 24 months). Your scores must meet the minimum requirements of: Reading (LA035 or above), Writing (LA035 or above), and Math (MTH025or above). Check the Testing Center website or call (541) 278-5931 for Testing Center hours.
  4. You do not have to take a placement test in a subject area if you have passed, with a “C” or higher”, the following course or courses.  Note this requirement is waived for those with an Associates degree or higher.

    • LA035: Reading and Writing
    • MTH025: Basic Mathematics

    Students that do not meet the program requirements may be accepted into this program upon approval of the Program Coordinator.

  5. Official transcripts (college) from schools other than BMCC are required for course work that will be used to meet program entry requirements. Official transcripts should be sent ahead of, or accompany your application in a sealed envelope from the issuing school. At the same time submit a Transcript Evaluation Request Form.

All students requesting entry into this program will be contacted by the Program Advisor and will be sent a letter outlining the program entry requirements, tool list, and course requirements for the program.

This program received $1,220,423 (70% of its total cost) from a grant awarded under the President’s Community-Based Job Training Grants, as implemented by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration; Veteran's preference will be given to those applicants meeting the application requirements; Auxiliary aides and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

As such, priority will be given to those applicants that meet the program requirements and are:

A) Veterans
B) Spouse of a veteran

Only those students admitted to the Diesel Technology Program will be allowed to register for the Diesel Technology Program courses.
