Associate Vice President of Instruction

Administers education projects and programs, and is responsible for grant management, administration of curriculum development and delivery, development of programs in partnership with business and industry, the direct supervision of full-time and part-time faculty as assigned by the Vice President of Instruction. Coordinates recruitment, hiring and evaluation of faculty following BMCC procedures and collective bargaining agreements if applicable. Provides leadership and vision in areas including: Development and coordination of curriculum, including fostering the development of program and course learning outcomes, Course scheduling, including the implementation of strategic enrollment management for analysis and scheduling management, collaboratively assist academic departments in creating a budget and operating within it, program review and strategic planning, assessment of learning, faculty evaluation and professional development, instructional support, and assist in the marketing of academic programs.
SPECIAL NOTE: This position will be supported either solely or in large part with grant funding. As such, duties of this position will include management of the grant(s) supporting the position. It is expected that the position will exist only through the continued support of grant funds.
Requirements include a Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred), and a minimum two years experience teaching at the post-secondary level. Experience in energy related education as well as online education preferred. Position is full-time, 12 months per year with excellent benefits. Pay range is $53,500 to $60,000 per year. First review begins December 4, 2009; position is open until filled. Second review begins January 4 if needed.
