Director of Corrections Education

BMCC has an opening for Director of Corrections Education for the Education Program at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI)in Pendleton and Two Rivers Correctional Institution (TRCI) in Umatilla, OR
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following and other duties: Lead the inmate education team in providing quality, competency-based instruction in a variety of areas, including Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language, General Education Diploma preparation, Basic Skills Upgrade, Life Skills, and Work-based Education. Actively participate as a member in the BMCC College and Institution Management team. Serves on DOC and community committees. Initiates and maintains communications with outside agencies. Provides periodic reports to the Vice President of Instruction, implement and monitor program budget within the guidelines set forth by both the College and DOC.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree with a Master's degree strongly preferred in Administration and Leadership, Adult Education, English as a Second Language or closely related field, and three (3) years managerial experience in an adult education program. Consideration will be given to managerial experience in similar environments and/or in programs serving similar populations. Instructional experience, especially in adult education or corrections, and experience working in correctional institutions is a plus. Experience with unions and complex contracts and grant experience a plus. Position is full-time, 12 months per year with an excellent benefit package.
Pay range is $53,500 - $60,000 per year depending upon qualifications. The position is open until filled. First review date: December 4, 2009
