| JOBS Program Assistant | Full Time, Pendleton and Milton-Freewater Salary: $12.14 - $12.63 Depending on experience BMCC seeks a Program Assistant for the JOBS Program to provide office support to the JOBS Program Manager and for the JOBS Program in Pendleton and Milton-Freewater. Position is split between the office located at BMCC, Milton-Freewater and the Employment Office in Pendleton. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment and computers, and possess high-level skills in the use of MS Office Suite. High school diploma plus 1-2 years of post high school training in office procedures, or equivalent, AA degree preferred and two (2) years experience working in an office setting. | Director of Corrections Education | BMCC has an opening for Director of Corrections Education for the Education Program at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI)in Pendleton and Two Rivers Correctional Institution (TRCI) in Umatilla, OR The successful candidate will be responsible for the following and other duties: Lead the inmate education team in providing quality, competency-based instruction in a variety of areas, including Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language, General Education Diploma preparation, Basic Skills Upgrade, Life Skills, and Work-based Education. Actively participate as a member in the BMCC College and Institution Management team. Serves on DOC and community committees. Initiates and maintains communications with outside agencies. Provides periodic reports to the Vice President of Instruction, implement and monitor program budget within the guidelines set forth by both the College and DOC. Requires a Bachelor’s degree with a Master's degree strongly preferred in Administration and Leadership, Adult Education, English as a Second Language or closely related field, and three (3) years managerial experience in an adult education program. Consideration will be given to managerial experience in similar environments and/or in programs serving similar populations. Instructional experience, especially in adult education or corrections, and experience working in correctional institutions is a plus. Experience with unions and complex contracts and grant experience a plus. Position is full-time, 12 months per year with an excellent benefit package. | Associate Vice President of Instruction | Administers education projects and programs, and is responsible for grant management, administration of curriculum development and delivery, development of programs in partnership with business and industry, the direct supervision of full-time and part-time faculty as assigned by the Vice President of Instruction. Coordinates recruitment, hiring and evaluation of faculty following BMCC procedures and collective bargaining agreements if applicable. Provides leadership and vision in areas including: Development and coordination of curriculum, including fostering the development of program and course learning outcomes, Course scheduling, including the implementation of strategic enrollment management for analysis and scheduling management, collaboratively assist academic departments in creating a budget and operating within it, program review and strategic planning, assessment of learning, faculty evaluation and professional development, instructional support, and assist in the marketing of academic programs. SPECIAL NOTE: This position will be supported either solely or in large part with grant funding. As such, duties of this position will include management of the grant(s) supporting the position. It is expected that the position will exist only through the continued support of grant funds. Requirements include a Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred), and a minimum two years experience teaching at the post-secondary level. Experience in energy related education as well as online education preferred. Position is full-time, 12 months per year with excellent benefits. Pay range is $53,500 to $60,000 per year. First review begins December 4, 2009; position is open until filled. Second review begins January 4 if needed. |
