Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research
Federal requirements and campus policies regarding research with human subjects are implemented by the IRB to ensure against undue risks and the deprivation of personal rights and dignity of the individual human subject in research. The IRB is obligated to review behavioral research involving human subjects conducted at or sponsored by the College, College employees, emeriti faculty, auxiliary employees, and/or student/faculty collaborative research under the auspices of the College. The members of the IRB are appointed by the College President.
Copies of the processes and procedures are available below. If you or your students are contemplating any research (including questionnaires), you are urged to review these documents to determine which level of review is warranted for your project and complete the requisite forms and documentation. All research involving the use of human subjects must be submitted for review to the Institutional Review Board.

Proposals considered to be Expedited Review qualified by the principal investigator/researcher are sent directly to the Chair of the IRB at least 14 workdays prior to the date the research activity is to begin.
