The National Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) verifies to employers anywhere in the United States that an individual has essential core employability skills in reading, math, and locating information.  If you have questions, please call 541-278-5929.

Take the WorkKeys assessments at BMCC

The CRC documents your skill level through a tool called WorkKeys® assessments—which remain the only proven system for linking job skills with workplace success. To earn the CRC, you must take three WorkKeys assessments—Math, Reading, and Locating Information. Your WorkKeys scores will determine what CRC level  you are eligible to earn: bronze, silver, or gold. If you want to progress to a higher CRC level, BMCC can provide focused classes and training programs to help you meet your goal

Why is it needed?

The mismatch between the skills required for most jobs and the skills of the U.S. workforce is having a significant impact on productivity and revenue across all businesses and industries. Employers need reliable ways to measure foundational skills to ensure that they are hiring the most qualified, trainable candidates.
The American workforce pipeline consists of high school, college, university, and adult training program graduates, the unemployed and incarcerated, returning retirees, and the currently employed. Today, our workforce pipeline is unevenly trained, and job applicants often have difficulty demonstrating to potential employers their actual foundational skill levels.

To help overcome these challenges, we need a workforce with the foundational skills to succeed and a common language for educators and employers to measure skills. The solution? The nation's workforce credential—The National Career Readiness Certificate.
